Glavé & Holmes Architecture (G&HA) has a lot to be excited about this summer! We are pleased to announce one new licensure, three promotions, two new hires, and two summer interns!
Kate Hershey, RA passed all divisions of the Architecture Registration Exam (ARE) and is now a licensed architect in South Carolina. She has a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Chemistry from Clemson University. She is a member of Glavé & Holmes’ Urban Architecture Studio and is currently working on Shenandoah River Hall at Christopher Newport University.
Sebastian Meussling, AIA Int’l Associate, has been promoted from associate to senior associate. He has nearly two decades of design and project management experience. Sebastian has worked on several cultural projects including the Allen & Jeanette Early Center for Christian Worship, the Valentine Richmond History Center Museum, the Mississippi Museum of Art, and the Virginia Historical Society. He is currently working on an addition to the Paul & Rosemary Trible Library at Christopher Newport University.
Edwin Holloway, AIA has been promoted to an associate. He serves as a key member of the Urban Architecture Studio and has managed a variety of projects, from high-end residential to museum additions. Edwin is currently managing new facilities for multiple higher education projects. In addition, he has been involved with a number of adaptive reuse and renovation projects including the Thomas Branch Building Renovation at Randolph-Macon College. He is dedicated to providing exemplary service to clients and passionate about the quality of his work.
John Spain, AIA, CDT has been promoted to an associate. John has served as a project manager/project architect in the Urban Architecture Studio for nearly a decade. He has a broad range of experience working with multi-family, mixed-use, and higher education facilities. He is knowledgeable of historic projects and projects in historic settings. Along with his neighborhood’s civic association, John has been engaged with an effort to re-balance traffic priorities on a historic, neighborhood main street. He is currently working on an expansion of the Regattas Dining Hall at Christopher Newport University.
Daniel Murrow is a new member of Glavé & Holmes’ Cultural Studio. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in Public and Urban Planning. He also holds Minor in Psychology and Landscape Architecture. Daniel previously worked with Commonwealth Architects. He has been a member of the Alpha Rho Chi Architecture and Allied Arts Fraternity and the Urban Affairs & Planning Student Association at Virginia Tech. Daniel won an AIA Richmond Alice Lehman Sunday Prize Merit Award in 2016 for Presentation and an honorable mention in the Third Year Architecture + Design Competition in 2012.
Rachel Peterson is a new member of the firm’s Cultural Studio. She graduated from Judson University with her Bachelor of Architecture and will be completing her Preceptorship with our firm before returning to Judson for her Masters. Rachel most recently worked with Architectural Resources in Geneva, Illinois. She is a member of the Tau Sigma Delta Honors Society and has been involved on an Architecture Faculty Search Committee at Judson.
Matson Roberts, Jr. has joined the Higher Education Studio as a summer intern. Matson comes to our firm from John G. Waite Associates, where he has been since graduating from the University of Virginia with his Bachelor in Architecture. He will be returning to the University of Virginia in the fall to pursue his Masters. Matson also has a business certificate from UVA’s McIntire Business Institute.
Rachael Skolnekovich joined the Urban Architecture Studio as a summer intern. She is a rising fifth year student at Virginia Tech. Rachael has previously interned at Wilmot Sanz Architecture and Planning in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She was the recipient of the Steven & Cathi House Travel Award in 2015 and spent the fall of 2016 on the European Travel Abroad program. She is a member of the AIAS Virginia Tech Chapter and the Sigma Kappa National Sorority.
